Berlinale

Every year in February, Berlin becomes the hotspot of film lovers. The Berlinale is the world's largest public film festival and one of the most important events for the international film industry. State Opera for Everyone

“Staatsoper für alle” is an annual classical music concert in Berlin, which is open to everyone. Berlin Marathon

Today's Berlin marathon is a two-day event in September. In addition to the main run (42.195 km) on Sunday, a mini-marathon for students over the last 4.2195 km of the original route and a marathon for inline skaters take place on Saturday. It is also the biggest and most famous marathon in Germany, with a route that rewards its runners with many of Berlin's sightseeing highlights.

Pyronale fireworks

Every year in September, pyrotechnics' from all over the world take over the Maifeld ground at the Berlin Olympic Stadium and present their craft. The well-practised teams create elaborate fireworks with breath-taking effects in an attempt to win the Pyronale trophy and the public's favour.

Carnival of Cultures

The Carnival of Cultures is a four-day urban festival that reflects Berlin's many faces. With a free and open programme, the carnival celebrates diversity. During the carnival, the public space gets transformed into a place for presentation and play with cultural identities. On the stages, world-renowned and up-and-coming bands and artists perform a variety of music styles: from reggae to chanson to classical sitar music.

Berlin Fashion Week

Twice a year, Berlin becomes the centre stage for the international fashion and lifestyle industry. DFB Cup Finals

The DFB Cup is the second most valuable trophy in German club football. Only the league championship is more important. Since 1935, teams have played for the trophy. Since 1985, the final of the DFB Cup is carried out at the Olympic Stadium of Berlin. 64 teams (36 clubs from the first and second Bundesliga as well as 28 teams from lower leagues) play five knockout rounds to reach the Cup Final. The Cup winner qualifies for the UEFA Europa League.
