Movenpick hotel stay

On arrival the friendliness of the staff and the ease of check in was great. My wife has some mobility problems and the staff immediately went and got her a wheelchair to assist her to our room. The room was clean and spacious. The cleaning staff were very friendly and helpful tending to our needs. A good buffet breakfast even though it was repetitive maybe a little more variety or some changes to the menu would have improved it. The only downside if there was one was that the bed is a bit hard but all in all a good hotel.

Movenpick, markets at your door

This hotel was very tired. It was comfortable and clean, but tired. We had issues with our air conditioning and maintenance cane and did repairs whilst we were in the room. From that point on only half the room had electricity. The rooms were dark also. Shower temperature and pressure was probably the best we had experienced across Thailand so far. Hotel is situated within minutes walk to great restaurants and coffee shops. Bella Goose coffee shop just on the corner. Great coffee. Night markets directly outside the hotel door which was great. Would I stay here again? Absolutely! Does the hotel need some work? Yes, it does. Overall this was a comfortable, clean hotel with a nice restaurant and nice breakfast. 3 stars for the maintenance issues, but otherwise worthy of 4.

Good Hotel

We really enjoyed our stay here. The staff were all very kind. The rooms are small but well appointed. Good restaurant with ample choices for breakfast and dinners. Really good location. My only criticism would be for the pool area. Of the three hotels we stayed at in Thailand, this one was the most un inviting. All the lounge seating is in the direct sun most of the day. No shade. One table for four in the shade. Gym area was ok but needs sterilizing spray and cloths to wipe equipment down. Other than that, I highly recommend!

Memorable Dining Experience at Fueng Fah restaurant.

Visited last month with a group of friends and enjoyed lunch at Fueng Fah restaurant, located on the L floor beside the lobby. If you're in search of an authentic northern cuisine dining experience, especially for Khao Soi, this is a must-try spot for any occasion. The staff, particularly Khun Mee & Khun Kheag, warmly welcomed us and were exceptionally friendly and polite. Highly recommend this place.

Letting down the Movenpick Brand in a number of areas

Fantastic location, easy walking distance to most city sights and right by the night bazaars and markets with plenty of restaurants and bars nearby. Reasonable price paid for our stay. This property is letting down the Movenpick brand. Large bright lobby , but very plain corridors to the rooms, the room decor is dated, the mattresses in our room were extremely hard, excellent a/c. The bathroom is not fit for purpose. You can't open the door if you have the foot towel on the floor, you can't open the door until the shower cubicle door is shut, you can't exit the shower until the bathroom door is shut - the room is ridiculously small, with nowhere to put anything, the towels are hung opposite the toilet, but there is not really enough space to stand in front and hang them, rather you have to twist round the corner. Very disappointing. The Bistro restaurant has both inside out outside dining and the meal we had was good. The outside area had live music every night of our stay which is good entertainment as you people watch, but the hotel management have forgotten the number one objective of a hotel is a good nights sleep - the music is loud and continued until midnight everyday during our stay, our room was at the front of the hotel giving us a good view but earplugs were insufficient. The entertainment should stop by 10pm any later is not fair to the guests. Extensive breakfast buffet, but all the cooked items are cold - the lids to the dishes are open at all times, therefore the hot food doesn't stay hot, it wouldn't take much to sort the problem, you just need dishes with self closing lids and/or heat lamps above the food. Could have been great, but cold eggs, baked beans and pancakes are not good, I assume all the Asian food was also cold ,but didn't try the items swimming pool area is a disappointment, the pool is shallow but sufficient for a cool down but located in the canyon created by the 2 accommodation blocks - this is not ideal, but would be acceptable if some maintenance was carried out, the service shafts, and flaking paint backdrop all need attention to make this nice area to spend time, however if it was popular the 3 sunbeds probably would be insuffcient, although there were 2 more loungers located in the shallow water of the pool and there were also some sofas located randomly around the rooftop. The swimming pool could be a great asset , but as it stands is a bit of an eyesore
