Reviews
The hotel is very large and immediately by the beach. Perfect location. Let's start with simple things: the room. My room had a balcony and was very comfortable with a good bathroom. The shower was uncontrollable - in that when it was turned on, the shower head kept twisting and within minutes the floor of the bathroom was soaking in water. But the water was hot and plentiful. The food: the food for both breakfast and dinner was ok - not sure I'd say anywhere near 5 star. The meals were buffet style (which I'm very happy with). Orange juice at breakfast was delicious because oranges were freshly squeezed in front of me. One evening, in the dining room, there was live music - but sadly the live music was boosted by the use of amplifiers making the very large dining room too noisy. One had to shout to be able to be heard. I tried to sit as far away from the amplified music as possible, but the dining room manager didn't like that and ordered me to sit much closer. When I tried to explain that the music was far too loud - he shrugged and said "it's Tunisian music". I am very happy that in Tunisia, local music / local artists play - but did it need an amplifier - and if so, why so very loud? I believe that given my comments, the music did become slightly less loud. The main concern was children running around, screaming, yelling in the entrance / foyer to the hotel. I mean screaming. This continued all evening until at least 11.15 pm. I was able to hear it from my bedroom, and even though I closed the fire doors between the lift area and the bedrooms, the screaming and yelling penetrated through the doors. What were the parents doing? Every time I looked, they were on their mobile phones (texting, playing games - who knows). Hotel staff either didn't seem to notice or refused to intervene and tell the parents to keep their children under control. Without these two items, I'd happily have changed my review to 4 star.
ONE MAJOR DRAMA RUINED MY EXPERIENCE (ALSO NOT GREAT FOR A VEGETARIAN) On returning from the pool, I told my chamber maid I’d just wait on the balcony while she finished off. She left the room, locked me on the roof 6 floors up. I climbed over an iron fence & crawled to a low roof & began shouting to a few people below. They clearly thought I was deranged & ignored me. (I’m a senior citizen of 70 years) Eventually a man came & rescued me. I had no apology from the management. Oh also, another chamber maid took the tip I left in an envelope for my driver! The duty manager did refund me eventually. The food was distinctly average & there was very little understanding of Vegetarian. Really lovely staff in the restaurant at breakfast & Dinner. It’s cold in April but I knew that.
Think u for ur servec . The room is very good . Spechely salem . The service of night so speshel The diner is very good The service of reseption is good ................................................................. ...............
Chose this resort because it was a 5* hotel. We had to change our room because it did not give us any privacy, anyone walking along the garden could see through. We had half board meal plan, breakfast was ok but could improve. Dinner I was not happy with, we had pay for water which the waiter did not tell us. The foods was same and everything was cold. I was really disappointed that I could not wear burkini to use the pools, which I find it very difficult to understand as it is a Muslim country.
The experience at the Movenpick Hotel was perfect. I liked every facility, especially the gym, and the coach named Amel. She was very helpful and took great care to spend much of her time advising me and showing me the correct way to do exercises.
