Hotel Jumeirah Beach

Reducing utility consumption

Focusing on three key areas to lower its environmental impact, Mövenpick Hotel Jumeirah Beach keeps its eye on energy, water and waste. The hotel monitors its energy consumption on a daily basis and identifies potential areas for saving. It has introduced LED lighting, controls temperatures in various areas of the hotel and raises awareness among employees about saving measures.

In 2011 and 2012, the hotel reduced around 200,000 KWH in electricity and 190,000 RTH in district cooling despite higher occupancy levels. In the same period, the hotel also saved enough water to fill three Olympic-sized swimming pools by optimising the hot water circulation efficiency. Waste recycling is also a priority for the hotel.
