Mövenpick Hotel Jumeirah Beach is a Green Globe certified hotel

For a number of years now, we have been implementing solid sustainability practices in our company. We are very proud of the fact that this has also resulted in Mövenpick Hotels & Resorts becoming the most Green Globe certified hotel company in the world.

As a Green Globe certified hotel, Mövenpick Hotel Jumeirah Beach is internationally recognised as a property that constantly introduces initiatives with the aim to reduce and optimise its consumption of resources. This includes, but is not limited to, employing energy efficient lighting, reducing water consumption and effectively managing waste and use of chemicals.

Our commitment to environmental awareness is part of Shine, Mövenpick Hotels & Resorts’ Global Sustainability Programme. Shine aims to give back and contribute towards the prosperity of each destination where we operate. The sustainability practices we pursue revolve around three key pillars – Environment, Employer and Social Sustainability – with Education forming the common thread amongst the three.

Reducing utility consumption

Focusing on three key areas to lower its environmental impact, Mövenpick Hotel Jumeirah Beach keeps its eye on energy, water and waste. The hotel monitors its energy consumption on a daily basis and identifies potential areas for saving. It has introduced LED lighting, controls temperatures in various areas of the hotel and raises awareness among employees about saving measures.

In 2020, Mövenpick Hotel Jumeirah Beach has been awarded with Gold level certification as a result of their CSR and energy saving initiatives. The hotel was recognised for its many initiatives performed throughout the year, which include the participation in several CSR activities and donations to charities. Moreover, in 2020, the hotel has managed to achieve extreme targets and reduced the carbon emissions by 57.1%, saved electricity by 41.6% and conserved water by 69.2% compared to 2019.
