Shopping and souks in Jeddah

When in Jeddah, shopping tops the list of things to do. There are several shopping malls to check out, as well as traditional souks and modern souks as alternative shopping destinations.

Red Sea Mall

Listed amongst one of the biggest shopping centres in Jeddah, Red Sea Mall is situated at the northern suburbs on Malik Road. With an area of 242,200 sqm, Red Sea Mall offers a mix of international and local brands, as well as a good variety of restaurants, cafés and diners. What's nice about Red Sea Mall is on weekends they always have something going on for the family.

Al Balad

Right in the heart of old Jeddah in a fairly decrepit looking area is Al Balad. “Balad” means “town” in Arabic. Here you will find very old buildings that were made completely with corals from the Red Sea. This sort of buildings may sound daft now, but they are still in use. Al Balad used to be the heart of Jeddah and still has traditional souks that are worth visiting.

Tahlia Shopping Center

A 3-level mall, Tahlia Shopping Center is situated on the most well-known street in Jeddah, Tahlia, featuring many of the stores one might be looking for. Tahlia Shopping Center is the perfect mall to shop for beauty products. Every shop establishment is just a few minutes' walk from each other, if not less. They also have some designer abaya shops, jewellery stores and lots of shops that sell watches.
