Mövenpick Hotel & Resort Al Bida’a Kuwait is a Green Globe certified hotel
For a number of years now, we have been implementing solid sustainability practices in our company. We are very proud of the fact that this has also resulted in Mövenpick Hotels & Resorts becoming the most Green Globe certified hotel company in the world.
As a Green Globe certified hotel, Mövenpick Hotel & Resort Al Bida'a Kuwait is internationally recognised as a property that constantly introduces initiatives with the aim to reduce and optimise its consumption of resources. This includes, but is not limited to, employing energy efficient lighting, reducing water consumption and effectively managing waste and use of chemicals.
Our commitment to environmental awareness is part of Shine, Mövenpick Hotels & Resorts’ Global Sustainability Programme. Shine aims to give back and contribute towards the prosperity of each destination where we operate. The sustainability practices we pursue revolve around three key pillars – Environment, Employer and Social Sustainability – with Education forming the common thread amongst the three.
Installing energy and water saving devices
In 2011, Mövenpick Hotel & Resort Al Bida’a Kuwait launched and completed several programmes in water and electricity conservation, waste reduction and energy efficiency. With its goal being the overall reduction of energy use and greenhouse emissions, the hotel commenced with its project of installing water saving devices and energy saving light bulbs throughout the property. This initiative helped the hotel to reduce its annual electricity consumption by 20% and water consumption by just over 10%.
