Nice hotel but some issues

This is a large resort with many amenities. In general we really like the place. Staff is friendly and helpful especially the lifeguards at the Dead Sea. Also nice that their outlets are universal so accept US,British, no European plugs. We do have several problems with our room. Largest is that our air conditioning is barely working. Outside temperature is currently 95°F and room is 80° and even thought thermostat is set lower, it will not drop temperature. Other rooms with our group do not have this problem so I think ours just needs work. I called for service yesterday but none has arrived yet. Second problem the Nespresso machine in our room does not work, it will not puncture pods so we only get hot water, not a big deal just an annoyance. Last the shower while very nice has a very slow drain, you can not be in for more than about 5 minutes or it will overflow. Again, it’s a nice hotel but like many other hotels I think it is short staffed and has to let a few small things slide

Good!

Amazing!! Special thanks to animation team ❤️ Food is actually nice, rooms are clean too. The location is exactly nearby the sea, that is good too. All in all I’m very happy about my experience of staying in this hotel. Definitely will come back here again 👍🏻

Lovely hotel but terrible food policy

When approaching the hotel first thing you notice is the extra security which is not a bad thing however we felt like school children being told off when they snatched our bag containing a couple of bananas and nuts..have never experienced this in any hotel before..had to beg with the manager that we needed the food as I suffered from very low sugar levels when I needed to eat in case I felt dizzy and ill!! Nasir and Mohammed however at reception were the stars in the hotel ...they were always there to help and made our stay very comfortable..the room was gorgeus and a very good size ..breakfast and dinner was fairly diverse and always got something we liked The beach where you do the mud and dead sea experience is brilliant and lifeguards very helpful. For the size of the hotel I feel there could be more entertainment but overall a nice hotel just stupid food policy

Amazing staff

We needed some help late in the evening, we went to the lobby and found Mohamed A to be extremely kind and sympathetic. He went above and beyond to help us and we are extremely thankful. We are very pleased with the hotel staff and amenities and shall return in our future visit to Jordan.

High expectations, disappointed

This was the last night of a wonderful trip to Jordan and we looked forward to a great stay in a beautiful room with a Dead Sea view. The hotel grounds are lovely and the Dead Sea beach access a wonderful feature. The security agent at the gate was helpful and directed us to the second, evidently premium, check in desk. When we drove there, the guard outside waved us away. We were puzzled and asked him to check, whereupon he seemed to make a walkie-talkie call and then waved us dismissively back to the main check in. When we drove to the main check in area, the security team told us the few apples and oranges we'd brought with us in the car were forbidden and we had to throw them away or store them in the sun in our hot car. Yes, there is a sign at the front gate banning food and drink, but we had no prior warning of this policy, despite booking through Movenpick's own website. Be warned not to bring any food or drink with you if coming to this hotel. When we got to the room, the AC was making a very loud noise. After a long lag, an engineer came to try to fix it and kept claiming-- during a two hour repair attempt-- that it was fixed, though it remained noisy. As this dragged on, we asked for a room change but were refused. The desk staff claimed he would fix it. In the end, he had quieted it some and we accepted. But it was still horrendously noisy when set at a speed that would actually deal with the temperature. We shared our concerns with the manager at check out-- sharing a video of the noise from the AC--and were promised an email but never received one.
