Historical inner city

The Martin-Gropius building is the most important exhibition hall in Berlin. The imposing museum was built with the plans of Martin Gropius and Heino Schmieden in 1881. It was originally conceived as a museum of crafts. Today, the exhibition programme features art, archeology, photography and cultural history exhibitions, attracting more than 500,000 visitors each year.
