The city of ‘s-Hertogenbosch offers a high variety of culture such as museums, the Jheronimus Bosch Art Centre or a guided boat trip.

St John's Cathedrale

The Dutch Gothic highlight is St John's Cathedral, the most complete and intact example of a Gothic church in the Netherlands.

It has an extensive and richly decorated interior, and serves as the cathedral for the bishopric of 's-Hertogenbosch. The cathedral has a total length of 115 and a width of 62 metres. Its tower reaches 73 metres high. In 1985, it received the honorary title of Basilica Minor from Pope John Paul II.

It is possible to take a tour of the cathedral and climb its tower. You can then visit the cathedral's Bouwloods Museum to learn about the history and restoration of the building. The unique floating arch figures or ”hemelbestormers” (the heavenly assailers) are a feature of the cathedral.
