Festival of Animated Film
Annually, the Festival of Animated Film ("Trickfilm-Festival") brings the best of animated films to Stuttgart. More than 600 films are shown at cinemas in Stuttgart's city centre and also at open-air film screenings in Palace Square. Film enthusiasts can look forward to the latest productions of the animated film sector, from classic cartoons and artistic trick films to 3D computer animation feature films. Enjoy the unique atmosphere at one of the most outstanding events for animated film worldwide.

Jazz Open Stuttgart
Once a year in summer, Stuttgart becomes the magnificent setting for the Jazz Open. This open-air music festival is a cultural event where international jazz, soul and pop artists perform on stage. Jazz fans can look forward to an outstanding combination of jazz with other music genres.

Stuttgart Wine Village
Treat yourself to wine tasting and Swabian cuisine at Stuttgart´s Wine Village, which is set up in Schillerplatz in August/September to celebrate culinary folk traditions. More than 500 exquisite wines from the south of Germany can be sampled in 125 tastefully decorated “Weinlauben” open-air restaurants. To accompany them, Stuttgart’s chefs serve Swabian specialities such as “Maultaschen” (filled pasta squares), “Käsepätzle” (noodles with cheese) and “Schupfnudeln” (potato noodles) with sauerkraut.

The Stuttgart Beer Festival, which originated in 1818 as a harvest thanksgiving celebration, has become one of the world’s largest folk festivals with a host of fairground rides and frequent new attractions centred round its emblem, a 26-metre-high fruit column. Each year the festival opens with a grand procession featuring magnificently decorated brewery drays drawn by four or six horses, as well as groups from all over the region dressed in traditional costumes.

Stuttgart Christmas Market
From November to December, the city of Stuttgart invites you to one of the most beautiful Christmas markets in Europe. Discover festive decorations and lights, the smell of cinnamon and vanilla, bratwurst and mulled wine, as well as Christmas songs in the background.
The Christmas market in Ludwigsburg offers baroque flair with numerous shopping opportunities and the medieval Christmas market of Esslingen welcomes its visitors to an unusual atmosphere with craftsmen and artists, street performances and medieval handicrafts, as well as a daily children´s programme.

Comic Con Germany
The very first Comic Con Germany in 2016 in Stuttgart was a huge success. In 2020 Stuttgart’s convention centre will become a platform for fans of comics and Sci-Fi again. Meet comic illustrators, walking acts and publishing houses or see international Hollywood actors and listen to them on stage.

Long Night of Museums
