Temple of Literature - Van Mieu
The Temple of Literature is a pleasant retreat from the streets of Hanoi. Built in 1070 under the Ly dynasty, this place used to be the first university of Vietnam (Imperial Academy) for brilliant students whose major focus on discussing literature and composing poetry. There are 82 stelas representing the record of personal information for doctors who gained outstanding academic achievements. Van Mieu is also a typical example which boasts a long history of well-presented Vietnamese architecture.

President Ho Chi Minh’s Mausoleum
Located in Ba Dinh Square, President Ho Chi Minh's Mausoleum is the final resting place of President Ho Chi Minh. The place was first constructed in September 1973 and still remains as a unique combination between the design of Lenin’s Mausoleum in Moscow and the domestic architecture of Vietnam. This construction was dedicated to Ho Chi Minh since this was the place where Chairman of the Communist Party of Vietnam, read the Declaration of Independence in 1945. The whole construction consists of three main parts to visit which are:

Hoan Kiem Lake and Ngoc Son Temple
The city has many interesting cultural and historic monuments for visitors and residents alike. Hoan Kiem Lake (Lake of the Returned Sword) is named after a local legend in the past about Le Loi Emperor; at present, it is regarded as the most-visited tourist attraction in Hanoi representing the culture of the city. Built in 18th century on the Jade Island, Ngoc Son Temple has witnessed the making of the capital’s history and now serves as a historical spot for worshipping and visiting. Visitors can reach to this temple by crossing an eye-catching red-painted wooden bridge called The Huc (Morning Sunlight).
