Mövenpick Suriwongse Chiang Mai

Since we arrived at this hotel, we received outstanding hospitality through our 8 nights stay. Being upgraded to Junior suite by G.M. Liu, we enjoyed great tremendous comfort. This hotel itself is next to busy night market. Liu & another staff Nuch offered us lots of surprises including beautiful Thai outfits for hotel in-house Songkran celebration with dancers/musicians, invitations for Tapas and drinks and seafood buffet in Friday and Saturday nights. Staff Fai secured our quiet room in our next November booking and offered us another upgrade subject to availability. All the front desk staff were so charming and professional. They, beyond customer-hotel guest relation, helped me find and shop my personal items that impressed us more. All the staff were very nice and helpful to us. F&B staff, Mook in the restaurant remembered all our Accor membership details for member’s benefit. Nut in the executive lounge knew our preferred beverages after the first day visit and offered us good advice in searching for delicious Chiang mai styles food. Can’t wait to revisit soon.

We have business trip in late March, which our group booked around 10+ rooms via the Group reservation. The hotel staff made excellent arrangement for our group. They are even offered the upgrade for our company executives to Junior suite and deluxe room respectively. Price wise, Movenpick Suriwongse offered very competitive price for First Class Mid City Hotel in Chiang Mai. This is one of the most value for money hotel. Location, the hotel located in the Night Bazaar area, which is the old city center of Chiang Mai (the new CBD is in Nimmanhemin area). Still, the location is very convenience. It is less than 10 meters to the main Night Bazaar area for nightlife and shopping. The hotel has bar and restaurant that attract many tourists to visit. So, it is very good location. Only negative thing about this location is the noise issue. As it is in the center of the nightlife area, we cannot avoid loud music from nightclubs and restaurant nearby. The carpark is another issue. As it is the old mid city hotel, so the carparking space are limited. Hotel layout and Room. The hotel has nice reception area with nice lobby and waiting area. It is a clear sign of renovation from the old hotel into modern First Class hotel. The staircase gave the feeling of old but classy hotel. Their elevator may be small but in a very excellent condition. The Room for this hotel is nicely renovate. But we can see the problem that it is based on old hotel platform. So, the renovation was done at their best ability. The bed is nice and firm. The Air conditioning is nice and cold. The lighting systems are excellent. The room is good for First Class Hotel standard. The reason that they cannot move to 5 stars is due to their bathroom and toilet. Despite making the renovation nicely. The toilet still small and cozy. The lack of bathtub area (which is understandable). The shower area is nice but the overall outlook of bathroom and toilet are too cramp and give the feeling of 3 stars hotel. The facility wise, is excellent. The sleeping area and sizing are good. So, it make an overall 4 stars hotel comfortable. Breakfast, the meal is included in our package. The general picture of the breakfast area is very good. The meal consists of Egg stations, Buffet line, Noodle area, and Fruit station. Despite being an old hotel, the layout is very modern. But the selection of meal are relatively limited. But the quality of meat and eggs are good. The only downside is that there is no Egg Benedict on their menu (they have poaches egg but no Benedict option). The bread selection is limited and the like of French Toast that is quite standard for Movenpick Breakfast line throughout Thailand has been absent. But generally, they are doing a great job. Comparing to other Movenpick properties in Thailand, I have to admit that Movenpick Suriwongse Chiang Mai still behind the like of Movenpick Pattaya, Hua Hin, Khao Yai, or Bangkok (Wireless Road). The room is good size but still not fully equipped like other properties. The location is excellent but the noise issue is existing (even it is understandable). Still, the credit is going to their services, their location, and their nicely renovated room. Overall, Movenpick Suriwongse Chiang Mai is a recommend hotel for people that love nightlife, good location, and value for money.

We spent four nights in the Movenpick hotel in Chiang Mai. Even though it is not the most modern hotel it is definitely very comfortable and the rooms large and clean. The service from the staff was very good and very polite. The breakfast was excellent. Most importantly it is situated next to the night market. Amazing gifts to buy and great food in the very lively food market. If you want some real fun go to see the Lady Boys '6ixscret Show'. A free show just a 2 drinks minimum.

Just enjoyed another three nights at this great property. So many improvements since our last stay including now an Executive Club Lounge. Many thanks to all the lovely team who made our stay so special particularly Kuhn Pete - GM, Khun New - Front office mgr, Khun Me - Duty Manager, Khun Tuk - F&B Manager, Khun Tee in the restaurant & Khun Nut in the Exec Club We’ll be back!

The location is really good near a lot of restaurant that's easy to find food and massage shop, the staff here so attentive and very friendly specially the FB team specially this team members Earn, Bird, Wine Aor Mook Guy they all helpful and super friendly. Surely we will come back again soon!
