Great stay, great staff, great food!

We had a great stay at the Movenpick. I’ve read some average reviews on this resort…but we didn’t experience anything but cleanliness, helpful staff and great food! The breakfast and dinner (all included) options were great and changed everyday….the Restuarant on the beach was a great lunch option with very reasonable prices. Special mention to Mohamed on the front desk who was fantastic and helped organise day trips, cars and activities…and our room attendant, Karam who was excellent as his job, efficient and very kind. The kids loved the towel animals everyday ☺️. If had one complaint, it would be that activities like snorkelling and stand up paddle boards (SUPs) need to be provided for at the beach. No snorkels or flippers were available for hire…but all the hotel information said they would be. SUPs would be a great addition also. Highly recommend this resort for families and couples.

Not Worth anything…

I made a reservation on their website, I had in my bag a small coffee heater, they said it’s not allowed, I told them I’ve taken it with me to several and much better hotels inside n outside egypt, I asked to cancel my reservation they did so easily without even trying to satisfy me or say we are sorry, I asked for the manager and we were left waiting without anyone coming, we had to leave at the end… Anyway the hotel doesn’t look Great, you can tell from the reception, staff are not well trained on customer satisfaction…Not worth the money. I went down the road to Stayinn hotel, Great staff and better price and they did let my coffee heater in :) Seriously such hotels that don’t care about their customer are not worth our money…

Where would the 5 stars come from?

It has a beautiful garden. And the view to the sea is ok. But to start with, one interesting detail from our stay there is the fact that the key cards (for all of our 3 rooms!) did not at all work reliably. Not just once a day (stay was 3 days), almost any time when trying to enter, the doors did not open without effort or not at all, since there were problems with the cards: Frequently we needed assistance by the reception team (3 young guys) to be able to enter our rooms at all. The safe in the room did not work, it was “repaired”, but still did not work. Stains on the bed-ware (e.g., nail polish?) made me feel uncomfortable, and so did the need for insect spray. Other guests were entirely Egyptian, young families with many kids (below school age). I do love kids, but this was just too much shouting and crying and running everywhere around us, so the intake of meals in the restaurant was not pleasant and not relaxing. The hotel must have seen better days in previous times, which could be tolerated, but the crew at the reception was just very unpleasant, unfriendly and unmotivated, and this cannot be tolerated. They made us feel that we annoy them with any (of the many necessary) interactions. When leaving we needed to wait in the lobby for about an hour for being picked up by our friend. When we were sitting there around 3 in the afternoon, we realized that the 3 guys were laughing and talking to each other in our back while looking to us. After a short while an extremely loud and noisy, headache-provoking floor-cleaning machine was started to clean the lobby and was operated in close proximity to us (we were the only guests in the lobby during that time), until we left, this means for at least 30 minutes. I did not want to contact these unfriendly, yet “very amused” reception guys again, so we just suffered, and we were very relieved when our friend arrived to pick us up. Upon leaving, when I was passing by the reception, one of these guys was around and laughing, while avoiding eye contact with me (although I was the only hotel guest in his proximity and I was about to leave, and he knew that). I mentioned that I was regarding it as very impolite to let us suffer from that headache-provoking noise for a long time without saying a word of excuse. He was laughing and saying “Bye-bye, see you again soon”. With no apology. … We were truly happy to be able to leave that place. However, even when we were in our friend's car, we could not immediately leave, because the one hotel-assigned policeman (standing outside of the hotel) had decided to cause trouble, and he was trying to make a case out of us being a mixed group in our car, a group of foreigners from different countries and an Egyptian. We were asked back to the reception for discussion with the police, and it took us almost another half hour, until we were permitted to leave from that place. In summary, the hotel atmosphere is NOT at all the one you would expect in an expensive 5-star luxury hotel. And it is not the age of things, their being worn out or the lack of cleanliness that is critical, it is not the workers (there is much friendliness from most workers), it is the unfriendliness of the managing staff members and their attitude, which makes this place one you will not feel comfortable at. Do not expect friendliness at the reception, not a positive and guest-embracing attitude in the way you may find it at other places with comparable ranking. One should better go to these other places to be able to enjoy the vacation days rather than struggling with such guys who would NOT do anything to satisfy their guests and make their guests' stay pleasant. .... Upon booking by foreigners, only dollar payment was accepted. We could not use our EGPs.

Feeling home as usual!

usually when I visit Movenpick Sokhna , I have awarm welcome and friendly attitude of all the staff started from the reception Mr. Ahmad Saber , Mr. Youssef, room service always clean by Mahmoud Flefel, the restaurant manager Mr. Wael Samir is super friendly ,kindly, helpful ,he and his team is treating my kids so friendly and in a funny way. the food is good however we missed master chef Ahmad Sobhy and his oriental dishes, also chef Othman, but really Chef Ahmad Rabie and Chef Mahmoud were really good specially at desserts, what else ? The pool is very nice thanks to Fareed Shawky and his care of kids , the beach is a little rocky you need to wear beach shoes, pool bar service were amazing by Amr and Emad , the animation team is nice and made my kids had a nice time daily after 8.30 pm with the oriental actress specially Tannora , and the solo singer every thursday with red trousers is really good Ahmad Mostafa. "Highly recommend for families and relaxing time" beside amazing romantic dinner we had at Aljazera thanks to Usama and Nader also chef Mohamed Elgendy made amazing beef steak. ** please please we need someone to wash the cars at the parking area, as after my amazing vacation I had to drive a very dusty car with no one to clean it.. Its a must to manage it under Movenpick power ** &&also improve the kids area "little birds" as soon as possible & &
