Had a nice two-night stay at the hotel, very good area, so close to the lake and promenade, close to the metro station, Olympic Museum and can walk into town in 10-15minutes. The check in and out process was smooth and easy and bar staff good without being exceptional. The bed was comfortable and room nice but found a couple of long hairs (I have very short hair) on the pillow when I first arrived. The gym was very good, and you could get a decent workout in. Overall, a pleasant stay and would probably stay again.
Stayed for 3 nights for business stay. Lovely views of the lake, and very close to the metro station. Staff really helpful and friendly. Prompt check in procedure. Room was a very high standard. Very clean, modern decor. Great breakfast with plenty of options (the scrambled eggs, as well as cheese selection were excellent). All in all a very good stay.
Have returned to this hotel because of great location, nice views on lake, well appointed modern rooms, excellent staff and wonderful breakfast. Parking is reasonable and convenient. Excellent value. Not the old world ambience of surrounding establishments but there is little to criticize here.
I stayed in the Movenpick in Lausanne for one night last week on a business trip. In terms of the standard of the room, the breakfast and the location of the hotel, I cannot fault it. However, like many hotels on checking in they took a deposit of £92 to cover any expenditure whilst I was there. I did explain to the receptionist that given it was 12:30am and I was leaving at 7:30am the next morning I wouldn’t be needing to spend anything; but I accepted that this was their standard procedure. The next morning I was running a bit late so having had breakfast I left the hotel without checking out. The next day I asked the company that had booked and paid for my stay to ring the hotel and make sure that I would be refunded the £92 that had been debited from my card. As I write a week later, despite numerous further calls I still haven’t received a refund. Today I rang them and explained the situation again; but for reasons the receptionist was not able to explain she said they would need to ring me back. Six hours later there has been no call. This is clearly a very good hotel; but it would appear they have very little commitment to serving their customers properly once they have left. To be honest it feels like they just cannot be bothered.
Stayed there recently for my business school reunion. Location is great and rooms are clean and modern. The hotel is utterly unsuitable for a business traveller: 1. WiFi in the rooms if poor quality and works with interruptions. 2. There is no business centre, so if one needs wifi it's the lobby area or the restaurant. 3. Service is inconsistent: a. at check-in 11am we were told our room isn't available until 3pm, but several classmates, who came within 45 min of us were given access to their rooms (they checked in with a different staff member). b. we had courteous and professional service at breakfast, but the table next to ours basically got a "hurry up, we close in 15" treatment from another staff member. Not convinced, will try Beau Rivage next time.
