Design/architecture incorporates some traditional Arabic elements, has nice views of the Red Sea and Naama Bay from its hillside perch, somehow comes up with water to keep up the landscaping. Because it's on a hillside, be prepared to climb stairs a lot. The bar area at the point out by the gazebo is a great place to watch the sunset. The rooms are comfortable and have a screen on the window so you can enjoy some fresh air without the mosquitos. The pool bar food was fine but unimpressive. We liked the Indian restaurant especially -- which we needed reservations for when we were there. Comes with an extensive breakfast buffet. You can walk 10 minutes through the grounds to Naama Bay and other restaurants on the pedestrian Coast Road. Snorkeling was excellent and the beach is fairly long (there are 4 different access points to the sea) so you can spend quite a while in the very clear water. Bring mosquito repellent to use in the evenings! And be prepared for some of the service staff (e.g., the spa, other shops) to approach you about their services when you are on grounds.
If you have mobility issues do not stay here.after three days room changed but still dealing with 15 steps to get in room. We paid inflated rates due to COP but was met with little understanding from staff, and left pretty much as a prisoner in my room. Asked for an apology from staff who refused to find a solution - never came ! Please don’t send one here it’s really too late!
It's rare to find a place that's so attractive that we chose not to go exploring in town, but Movenpick's resort at Sharm El Sheikh is one of them. After an extensive sight-seeing tour of Egypt's marvelous antiquities, we decided that a few days at a resort was just what we needed. The water was warm and teaming with colorful fish and you could rent a snorkle set for just $5 US for the day! The buffet was delicious and the pool amazing and the staff wonderful. Who could ask for more?
A very good hotel, rooms need a bit of renovation but very clean, very nice staff and the food is amazing!close to city center(15 minutes walking time),they give the possibility to ride horses, great SPA,here a bit expensive, have to handle a bit. Definitely recommend this hotel!
It was our first time in Sharm and in Movenpick and we loved it! After some negative reviews I've read here I wondered if I was wrong in my choice of hotel but I didn't regret for a minute that we chose it. The staff was so kind, so helpful and always ready to support us that I really don't understand the complaints about their serving and atitude... Special thanx to the barman of Horizons bar for his amazing cocktails and to our housekeeper who did perfectly his job and even arranged our towels in different ways every day :) The hotel is a little bit old but well maintained and the architecture of the building is really amazing - very high ceilings, charming traditional details, cosy interior. We chose a Double Ground floor Superior room which was great because we were just steps away from the pool, the beaches and the main restaurant. There is a beautiful pedestrian alley from the hotel building to Naama Bay Promenade, great for evening walks. The beaches were very clean and Beach No 4 allows you to enter the water without aqua shoes. The free WiFi worked surprisingly well everywhere including the beach and the room. We liked the food, too, and appreciate the effort to bring variety with dishes from different national cuisines every evening. It was a great week for us and we would definately come back again.
