Mövenpick Petra

A lovely hotel with the best location in Petra. The rooms are spacious and very clean. The staff are very friendly and attentive. The meals in the restaurant are buffet style with many choices with something for everyone. Just across the parking lot is the entrance to the Petra complex. There are a lot of small shops just outside the entrance, so lots of souvenir buying opportunities. Because the Petra complex is so close, you can roll out of bed, have a delicious breakfast and spend the day wandering down to and back from Petra. I can’t imagine staying anywhere else in the area.

We encountered several issues during our stay including the swimming pool not being available for the first two days of our three day stay (the pool temperature on the 2nd day was 19 degrees centigrade, so unusable). To their credit the management did address the issues. We found the dining, location and service to be excellent. However, we will not be returning as the superior room for which we paid a substantial premium relative to other 5 star hotels in Petra and Jordan widely (Kempinsky, Hilton) had poor quality fittings and furniture. The furnishings were what one would expect to find in a 3 star hotel. The rooms need substantial renovation to justify the price being charged.

Had a unique experience at the Bar for 2 consecutive days thank to Zaid.R who showed professionalism and a prompt sevice. The rooms were very clean and had the chance to have breakfast which was as well so generous. The hotel has a very friendly staff in general. Bravo!

During our visit to Petra City, I was accompanied by my two sons and husband. We had the pleasure of staying at the Movenpick, and I'm truly grateful for selecting such a wonderful hotel. From the moment we arrived, we were warmly greeted by the bellboys, especially Waleed. The check-in process was seamless, with the front desk staff welcoming us with radiant smiles and offering us a spacious room with a balcony and breathtaking views. For lunch, we headed to the Al Maqaad Bar Restaurant, where we were graciously welcomed by Mary Ann G. Her warm smile and open arms made us feel right at home as she escorted us to a table in the lobby. Mary Ann not only presented the menu with enthusiasm but also ensured our comfort by promptly arranging our table and offering bread and butter as a delightful starter. Despite her recommendation of refreshing drinks, considering our long journey, we opted for water and soft drinks. Mary Ann went above and beyond to enhance our dining experience by introducing us to the soup of the day (corn soup) and recommending tantalizing local dishes such as the rich Arabi mezza appetizer, beef tartare, mansaf, and makloobah, providing detailed explanations for each dish. After carefully considering our options, we settled on the soup of the day, beef tartare, white pasta, and margarita pizza. To our delight, Mary Ann extended an invitation to the chocolate hour from 4 to 5, ensuring that both our children and ourselves would have a memorable experience. Additionally, she informed us about the happy hour from 4 to 6, where selected drinks were available on a buy one, get one free basis. We were truly impressed by the professionalism and genuine hospitality displayed by the Movenpick staff, particularly Mary Ann and Maria. Their attention to detail and commitment to ensuring our comfort made our stay even more memorable. Would surely come back if given the chance 🩶🩶

I had an amazing experience in Movenpick Hotel Petra. I was completely impressed with their staff’s professionalism and customer service especially to Mary Ann who’s very helpful and accommodating. Your positive attitude and willingness to go the extra mile for customers is appreciated. A big thank you also to Cassandra for taking care of us during our breakfast. The two of you deserved a shout out for a job well done. Will definitely visit again with friends.
