Public donates nearly one tonne of school supplies for Mövenpick’s ‘Kilo of Kindness’ charity campaign.

Guests and visitors to more than a dozen Mövenpick hotels in the Middle East and Asia, have donated a total of 926 kg school supplies to education organisations and community centres.

7 September 2016: Guests and visitors to more than a dozen Mövenpick hotels in the Middle East and Asia, have donated a total of 926 kg school supplies to education organisations and community centres. A variety of books, stationary and clothing will now be distributed by each hotel to their own designated charities.

This latest campaign of the upscale hospitality company’s ‘Kilo of Kindness’ drive, was launched in the build-up to the United Nations International Day of Charity on 5 September. In return for their generosity, sponsors of school supplies received a complimentary ice cream as a token of appreciation from Mövenpick Hotels & Resorts.

“Many destinations commence with a new academic year in September and the wonderful contributions from our guests will support several young learners from disadvantaged communities in a very positive way,” said Andreas Mattmüller, Chief Operating Officer of Mövenpick Hotels & Resorts, Middle East and South Asia.

Mövenpick properties in Jordan, Lebanon, Pakistan, Saudi Arabia, Thailand and the Philippines participated.

‘A Kilo of Kindness’ is part of Mövenpick Hotels & Resorts’ global sustainability programme Shine, which aims to give back to the communities where the company operates properties. Shine focuses on three pillars – Environment, Employer and Social Sustainability – with a special focus on Education.
